Who We Are

The PlayOn Foundation is a grassroots initiative that leverages team sports as a powerful tool for socioeconomic development among Ugandan youths.
Our programs target youth in Kampala and Wakiso districts, focusing on those who engage in sport for recreational purposes or aspire to pursue a career in sports.
By fostering teamwork, confidence, and perseverance through sports, we aim to transform lives and create opportunities for growth.

What We Do

— She Leads

The She Leads program is designed for high school girls and young professional women interested in pursuing a career in the sports industry.

— Empowering Youth

We use sport as a training ground for critical life skills – teamwork, confidence and perseverance. We’re expanding our youth development programs such as camps, clinics to increase the mental and physical well-being of thousands of young athletes.

— Water, Sanitation & Hand Hygiene (WASH)

Integrating sports with WASH programs can have a transformative impact. Sports provide a dynamic platform for engaging communities, particularly youth, in learning about the importance of water conservation, proper sanitation, and hygiene practices. By combining education with physical activity, sports-based WASH programs inspire individuals to take action, raise awareness, and practice healthy habits in their daily lives.

— Disability Sports for Inclusion​

Promote inclusion and accessibility for persons with disabilities through sports. This is aimed at breaking down barriers for people with physical disabilities, this program offers adapted sports and recreational activities. It focuses on fostering a sense of inclusion and belonging through sports, empowering people with disabilities to engage in physical activities and social interactions.

— Community Sports Competitions​

Creating community-wide events to foster unity and sportsmanship. Organize sports events that bring together people from diverse backgrounds to compete in various sporting events. These competitions offer a chance for socializing, entertainment, and raising awareness about important social issues.

— Sports for Environmental Sustainability

We environmental awareness through sports-based initiatives. This program integrates environmental education into sports activities, teaching participants about the importance of sustainability, waste management and protecting natural resources. Tree planting, and recycling initiatives are incorporated alongside sports competitions.

From Shy to Leader: Caesar’ Journey Through Sport

Caesar was a shy and reserved boy before joining our sports programs. Through teamwork, discipline, and the guidance of our coaches, Caesar discovered a newfound confidence within himself. He is now a leader on his team and a positive role model for other young people in his community.
