Who We Are
Building Stronger Communities, One Athlete at a Time.
The PlayOn Foundation believes in the power of sports to build stronger, more vibrant communities in Uganda. We work hand-in-hand with young people in Kampala and Wakiso districts, from those discovering the joy of recreational play to those pursuing their dreams of athletic excellence. We provide structured programs that not only develop athletic skills but also foster essential life skills like teamwork, communication, and resilience. By building confidence and fostering a sense of belonging, we empower these young people to become positive role models and contribute meaningfully to their communities, both on and off the field..

Our Approach
Youth Sports Development
At the PlayOn Foundation, we believe that sports are more than just games; they’re powerful tools for holistic youth development. Our programs in Kampala and Wakiso districts focus on nurturing well-rounded individuals by combining athletic training with essential life skills development. We provide opportunities for young people to learn teamwork, leadership, communication, and resilience—skills that are crucial for success both on and off the field. Through structured programs, dedicated coaches, and a supportive environment, we empower youth to reach their full potential, build strong character, and become positive contributors to their communities.

— Our Story
Founded in 2022 by Ntege Derrick, the PlayOn Foundation has grown from a sports talent development program to a comprehensive youth empowerment organization. By adding life skills training, mentorship, and educational/employment pathways, PlayOn now serves hundreds of young people in Kampala and Wakiso, equipping them for success both in sports and in life, ultimately building stronger communities.
